Tonight's Swim Meet and More
Hey Stingrays! Happy First Home Meet! We are all so excited about our first home meet tonight. It is going to be a fun night! Be sure to wear your t-shirt for our picture tonight. If you have not picked up your shirt, I will have it tonight.
Ribbon Update (Thanks Walston Family!:)
For our new families (and returning families), we thought it would be a good idea to review the swim team ribbon process - who receives ribbons, when they will receive them, where the ribbons are located, etc. At each swim meet, both HOME and AWAY, swimmers that swim in the Main Event (individual and relay) will receive a 1st-6th place ribbon based on their placement at the end of the race. For HOME meets, the ribbons will be prepared the night following the swim meet and swimmers will be able to pick up their ribbons at Thursday's swim practice, if they would like. Each swimmer has a folder where placement ribbons will be placed. Folders are organized by age group and located in two black bins that will be placed out during swim team practices. If swimmers do not pick up their ribbons during the season, they will receive them at the end of season party. For AWAY meets, it depends on how the host swim team prepares ribbons - either at the meet or after. Either way, the ribbons should be available later in the week. PARENTS - please remind your swimmer that if they swim in a Main Event, they will NOT be receiving a ribbon during the swim meet (HOME OR AWAY). For HOME meets ONLY, for age groups up to 9-10, swimmers that swim in the HEATS (after the main event), the first place swimmer in the HEAT (either Reserve swimmer or Visiting team swimmer) will receive a Duck as reward for winning that heat. All the remaining swimmers will receive an orange Participant ribbon. Swimmers 11 and up, swimming in HEATS will not receive anything at the end of the race. If you have any questions, please see either Bonnie Walston, our head ribbon writer or her husband, Curtis. Looking forward to a great summer and Go Stingrays!
Be sure to reach out if you have any question or concerns.
Grab your shirt, googles, sunscreen, and water bottle and we will see you at the pool this afternoon!
THANKS!
Kellie
