Last Swim Meet

HEY! HEY Stingrays!

Happy Sunday! What a great week we had-celebrating Seniors, winning our meet, and having a blast at the Cary City Meet!

It is hard to believe our last swim meet is this Tuesday! If you have not signed up, go sign up right now. We are also in need of volunteers. While it is an away meet, we still need help in various roles. Go sign up!

From Weldon Ridge:

Our pool is located at 701 Wellbrook Station Road, Cary. (Google Maps Link) Directions can be found at www.wrswimteam.com.

Parking:

Please encourage your team swim families to carpool to Weldon Ridge. We will do our best to keep the parking lot available for the visiting team. If the lot is full, you can use Wellbrook Station Rd for street parking. Additionally, Ivyshaw Rd and Trentview Rd are available for secondary overflow parking; you can use the Greenway to walk to the pool. Please ensure to park on only one side of the street (opposite the sidewalk) to allow room for emergency vehicle access. A map is attached for your reference, with yellow lines indicating where parking is recommended.

Facility:

Visitors are encouraged to bring folding chairs. Your swimmers can set up under the large Funbrellas nearest the clubhouse. Spectators are also welcome to use the clubhouse deck overlooking the pool, as well as the tables along the rock wall to the left of the shallow end towards the umbrellas. Basically, from the entrance of the pool, everything on the left side is designated for the visiting team.

Please, absolutely no permanent markers on swimmers other than swimmer numbers or events on arms, as they can transfer onto our fabric chairs. If we see swimmers with markers on their backs or legs, we will ask them to remove it or stay off the furniture at all times.

We have a 6-lane, 25-yard pool with no starting blocks. We use portable lights to supplement the deck light and can swim past dusk. Weldon Ridge swims in lanes 1, 3, and 5. The visiting team swims in lanes 2, 4, and 6. When Weldon Ridge is not using lanes for heats, the visiting team may use any available lanes.

Concessions:

We offer concessions where swimmers and families can purchase pizza (made fresh from Lowes Foods, $7 per box, 10ā€ by 6ā€, enough for 2 people), Chick-fil-A sandwiches, and pre-packaged snacks, popsicles, and drinks. We accept cash, Venmo, and PayPal. I’m providing a couple of pictures of the pizza for your reference. If there are any updates, I will share them with you as soon as I know before Tuesday.

The Reserve will warm up from 5:30-6:00.

Ribbons:

Other than the place and heat winner ribbons, each swimmer will receive only one participation ribbon, which we will provide at the end of the meet. We print labels and count ribbons for your team before sending them on their way. If we don't have time to print them on Tuesday evening, we will deliver them to your pool the next day.

Graduating Seniors Ceremony:

As we conclude the 2024 season with our final meet, we are excited to celebrate and honor our graduating seniors (we have only one this season). We will hold a special ceremony midway through the event, right after the backstroke events. If your team has any graduating seniors, we warmly invite you to join us in this celebration. Let's work together to make this moment memorable for our seniors!

We have had a great season of swim! Let's have one more fun night of summer swim!

See you at the pool!

THANKS!
